Trü is another exciting new band that lit up our radar this week. These New Jersey based rockers are preparing to release their debut EP on June 9th, and they’ve just shared its latest single, Take A Peek. An abundance of 90′s scuzz and gravelly punk fuse together on this rhythmic hooking, melodic growling anthem. Trü explains that the song is about a situation that many people go through in their lives. “Someone you care about and trust turns around and does something incredibly hurtful.” Yes, that’s right. This is about that knife in the back and the scar it leaves behind. It’s an anguish with which we can all relate, portrayed with headstrong assertion by an ear turning band who evokes a mixture of Dinosaur Jr, Weezer, and as some have noted, Built To Spill.
