Innocent manga

Yeah, Diabolik Lovers style of coloring on Innocent. I deserve no credit for this.

Anyways, what I learned a new respect for Sakamoto-sensei's art...Like, a new level of appreciation of technique. The tracing and coloring was only an exercise in reverse-engeneering.

I had always admired artists that draw these very stylized, long, flowing and dynamic hair. It really adds to this character's soft silhouette. Charles is so CUTE !

Tracing and Coloring WIP, and What we can learn

All credits to Sakamoto-sensei. This isn't mine at all, and I just trace to learn from it, okay.

So, what I noticed while tracing the hair is that Sakamoto-sensei...It gave me a new appreciation for it. He draws the various layers of hair with slightly alternating direction, paying attention to where it starts on the head. It's what makes it so realistic, dynamic and honestly beautiful.

Here's what I think of that one new Art Fight rule about tracing 3D models not being allowed. (I hate it) Please excuse my audio quality, I already know it's not the best.😅

With all the Art Fight discussion of using free 3D models that are intended to be used by artists without credit, I think there may be dissension on what constitute on tracing versus what counts as referencing

1 is Tracing, 2-7 are ref

1+2 are Tracing, 3+ are ref

1-3 are Tracing, 4+ is ref

1-4 are Tracing, 5-7 are Ref

1-5 are Tracing, 6 and 7 are Ref

1-6 are Tracing, 7 is Ref

These are all Ref

For photos, my understanding is it stops being tracing at 3+ changes made so you're not just copying one to one. That does not apply to your personal photos since we can assume you consent to these photos being used for art.
