I originally posted this last year, on Trayvon’s 24th birthday. This past February, he would’ve celebrated his 25th... it is important that we never forget what happened to him in this country and how the individual responsible was set free due primarily to the many layers of systemic racism that permeates the justice system that claimed to serve him. It more than failed him. What is clear is that we cannot allow for a society where this is acceptable.
