Image 3 and caption reposted from @thedreamdefenders Trayvon Martin should still be here. Today, we are celebrating his 30th birthday by honoring the gift that was his life. We are fighting for a world where Black kids can grow up and live their fullest potential in safety, dignity, and respect. Trayvon’s life was taken by a white vigilante with self-imposed power as an extension of the police state, and his tragic murder ignited a movement that woke up millions in defense of Black life. Trayvon’s story is the foundation of Dream Defenders, anchoring our work for 13 years.
We owe it to Trayvon and the incomprehensible amount of lives cut short by white supremacist violence to stand tall and fight for the world they deserved. We need you.
