Turkish coffee is a traditional and rich coffee preparation method that dates back centuries. It's known for its finely ground coffee beans and unique preparation in a special pot called a cezve. The result is a strong, aromatic, and unfiltered coffee with a layer of foam on top.
Ingredients: 1 heaping tablespoon finely ground coffee beans. 1-2 teaspoons sugar optional. 1 small cup of cold water.
Instructions: Add the coffee and sugar if using to a special Turkish coffee pot called a cezve. Pour in cold water and stir well to combine. Place the cezve over low heat and let it slowly come to a simmer. Do not stir at this point. Once a thick foam forms on top and the coffee begins to bubble, remove it from heat. Allow the grounds to settle for a moment. Return the cezve to low heat for another round of simmering, then remove it once more when the foam reappears. Carefully pour the coffee into a small cup, ensuring that the grounds stay in the cezve. Serve with a glass of cold water and enjoy!
