In regards to the symbols used to signify the winners of the life series’, I am trowing my two cents into the ring despite having no horses in this race.
I will start by saying that I think Martyn should be symbolised by the World. This keeps in thouch with both the celestial bodies theme (as earth, or the world to most of us, is a planet) and, more importantly for me, it keeps with the theme of the major arcana tarot cards.
In tarot the world is the final of the major arcana, and as such it symbolises the end, or a completion. You have achieved what you set out to do, and now you get to rest. And with this season, by finally winning, Martyn has reached his goal.
Now, I don’t know what the cc’s plan for further life series are, or if there will be one, but either way the world fits. If this is the end, at least for Martyn’s pov it ended with a perfect fulfillment of his arc. If the series continues? Then we step back into it again, and the journey begins anew with card 0, the Fool.
“The World leads back into the Fool. We can’t help ourselves. Energy festers if left to stagnate. [...] There will come a time where we again crave the wild journey, the mystery of the next step. We will go back into the Fool a little older, a little wiser, a little more equipped.” - from WTF is tarot? by Bakara Wintner
Also, this way we have a lot more to pick from when it comes to future winners. I see people struggling with determining which celestail body to go for already, and i cannot imagine that it will get easier. The major arcana on the other hand has 23 cards to draw from, and the most angsty ones haven’t even been taken yet.
I could also be convinced to go with another tarot card, if anyone got any good arguments
how are any of us gonna wake up on tuesdays ? huh ?
