There was something off about the party after a while. The beer was flowing but there was a faint sense telling Ace something was missing. Where was Anne? Usually her laughter and drunken thoughts were flowing by now? This prompted Ace to go find her little sister, younger by a few minutes but that counted!
Anne was not at the party that was for sure. Where had she gone? Was she ok? Ace began searching rooms and listening for the others voice. No luck so far. She was beginning to worry about her sister. What could’ve happened? Then she heard it.
A faint sob, so quiet and familiar. The bathroom was behind her and she quickly turned around to face it. She knew what was happening. She was sad, but why? “Anne? Hon what’s wrong?” Ace gently tried the knob of the door to check if it was locked or not.
The door wasn’t locked. Ann was lost in her own thoughts, everything spiraling down and was drowning her. So she didn’t heard Ace or that she opened the door. her body was shaking lightly, as the crying continued. The floor was chilly, but Ann didn’t care, didn’t feel it.
She kept hiding her face, not wanting to face anyone or anything. With her will she had shut everything out and only a touch would startle her. It was both comforting and scarying her. She didn’t want to be alone and yet she wanted no one to see her like this.
Well, except for Ace. There was only few things Ann kept from her sister and right now, one of these things was slowly drowning her. Sure, in a few days she would be the same and act as if this night had never happened. When people would talk about the party, she could chim in, because it was the same everytime and people were mostly too drunk to remember exactly what had happened. However, it was not now. Now she was a sobbing mess on the bathroom floor.
