i'm not much of a video editor or a motion graphic guy, but i'd be lying if i said that i didn't enjoy learning how to do new things in after effects to make my band look cooler. here's a fun snippet of the opening of the next tragic lovers video.

here's the official release of 'Ritual" by TRAGIC LOVERS. we'll have the single up on bandcamp later this week, and on all the streamers in a couple of weeks. it's a delightful, upbeat vignette about two people who very clearly hate each other, cut from a 1950s PSA titled 'who's boss', about the difficulties of marriage.

a fun thing about being in a band, if you’re a designer, is that you get to work on design pieces that you then put *everywhere*. it’s also fun to be able to share works in progress. my bandmate and i were working on two different ideas for a flyer independently of one another, and rather than choose one, i ended up combining them.

first image was my first draft, second image is the piece by eric de kolb (“A Winter Scene”) my bandmate was working with, final was the final output. come see us play if you’re in the PDX area, it’ll be a really fucking good show.
