The Derail Valley Railway Museum is proud to unveil the sixth and final exhibit in its fleet, DM3-540 No.56, the Demonstrator of the DM3-540 class.

Those of you who have visited before may remember that the DM3 was the last straggler that we couldn't locate for a long time. But thanks to the tireless work of our volunteers, we managed to get the DM3 repaired in record time.

Not that it's a race.

Pay no mind to the DM1U in the repair berth with a crumpled front and shattered windows. We do not encourage racing with Museum equipment and would certainly obey all speed restrictions in the valley no matter how quickly and unannounced they may change.

In other news, the DE6 Demonstrator has had its first run-in,

Leading a consist with two DVRT DE6s, pulling a train of nitrogen tankers for the food factory, excavators for the western iron ore mine, and two cuts of acetylene containers for the machine factory. It performed swimmingly, arriving on time for all deliveries except the last, earned the museum enough money to restore the DM3 demonstrator all in one go!
