Time goes by like never before. I sit in this train staring out the window dreaming of days gone before. The laughter of kids as they leapfrog the seats reminds me of much laughter of a misspent youth.
If only the sound of the triumphant football crowd sounded the time of my favourite team I might be more jubilant in my over all tone.
Sore eyes blaring from a sleepless night watching nothing worth mentioning but enough to keep me zoning in and out of its monotonous banter.
The winter chill at its peak one minute refreshing then chilling to the bottom of my soul awakening me to explore as this new day dawns.
Reasoning I have not nor need to explain, my travel a ticket to nowhere seems to excite as what happens next only my imagination can explain.
As the heavy steel wheels click down the tracks and a recorded voiceover announces the arrival of each approaching station, I wonder where do I get off.
Watching the the entering and exiting strangers rugged up to the hilt return passing stares like my doorway seat required address or acceptance as the continue their journey.
I can see only three doors further up in the carriage a no doubt reveler dancing in the train. Looking like last night hasn't ended. His headphones most likely muffle the fact that his singing is boisterous and overtaking the carriage. Hopefully he just doesn't care and his energy creates giggles and whispers from fellow commuters.
Here am I, going to nowhere fast, without a care in the world. Maybe it's time I jump up and dance, sing as loud as I can, no headphones needed. Continue with my blah blah yer yer in the middle of the song for the words I never remember.
Hey that sounds like fun and another story to tell, and tell it I will. Embarrassment I left well with past me, future me told it to do so and present me lives to the promise that tomorrow never comes.
I got seated with five dudes on the train ...
I can't decide if it's a blessing or a curse ...
Two of them almost fought over who would help me with my backpack ...
I mean I could've done it myself, but thanks ...
Also it kinda looks like we coordinated our outfits, we're all wearing various shades of grey ...
There's something incredibly spiritual about buskers performing on the train late at night. Most of the time they're just tuning their guitars, or singing to pass the time, whatever they're doing, it's magnificent. Listening to people perform with such heart in such an intimate, private setting is a really moving experience.
I ran to the station to catch the train before the doors closed and so here I am sitting in the train, exasperated yet relieved I made it... Till it dawned in that I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT OR WHICH TRAIN IM ON. GOD DAMMNIT
Train Tales #1 ‘Hail Satan’
The story begins as I’m heading back home on the train. My phone has been acting up and when I was barely half way through my transit, my phone shut off (my favorite part of a song was about to come up too :/). Too annoyed to take out my earbuds, I leave them in. Plus if I left them in people wouldn’t try to talk to me..(yeah right). As I’m staring out the window, avoiding peoples gazes I see a hand do a little *tap tap* in the seat in front of me. I looked up-first mistake-and see a young/old man, idk maybe in his late 20′s, trying to get my attention. And let me just point out I HATE talking on public transportation, especially with strangers.. And away we go! (italics/bold are inner thoughts) please dont talk to me Guy: hey what are you listening to? ugh Me: nothing, my phone is dead. Guy: so you kept your headphones in to make it look like you’re listening to music? Me: ha yeah.. Guy: would it be to bold to ask for you number? I knew this was coming Me: thank you but no. Guy: why? I could say I got a boyfriend or give him my number but never respond to him Me: i’m just not interested. Guy: you got a boyfriend or something like that? biiiitch I might. but why does it matter? Me: nope, just a loner Guy: well I appreciate you being honest and not trying to give me a fake number. Me: haha I couldn’t do that really, I couldn’t they’d know Guy: *says something inaudible and just smiles at me for the longest* Me: *smiles back* Guy: it would be a hell of a time though. Me: ...ha yeah...*smiles nervously* Guy: how charming am I? On a scale of 1-10, 7? 8? say a 1 say a 1 Me:......6? dang it Guy: that was going to be my next choice. You are really pretty buy the way. you got a great smile. *says something inaudible again* -only because i’ll never see you again in my life. i hate this Me: thank you Guy: *continues to ask me about my day and why im riding the train* I get off at Five Points how about you? Me: further south from that. like im going to tell you Guy: five points, haha like a pentagram... what do i say to that? Me: haha..hail Satan Guy: YES! *stands up* ..oh shit nah.. Guy: YES! Nobody ever says hail Satan anymore!! *smiles uncomfortably* *seeings everyone staring* Guy: you know what, Satan would LOVE YOU! Seriously! The Devil would absolutely LOVE YOU *points at me* oh please stop..dont point at me! Guy: the Devil HIMSELF would LOVE you! *starts to walk towards the exit doors* Satan man! can you believe it?! Especially since you’re a red head!! oh God no! SHHHH! Satan! hahah Satan! The Devil himself! LUCIFER! Do you know how much of an honor that is?! Lucifer, loving you! *silence* *Doors open and he takes one step out* *looks back at me* THE DEVIL!!!! WHAT IN THE BLOODY HELL WAS THAT!?!?!? *everyone on the train watches him leave and turn their heads back towards me* *blushes profusely* Me: *whispers*.....oh my god..
Train Tales
I ride the train most days and so many crazy things happen that I thought I would retell my tales for you all. The first one is by far the best/worst thing to ever happen to me. Stay tuned.
when a random person sits next to me on the train and then a hot ass guy appears afterwards looking for a sit.
me: you see this
me: do you see what you have done
me: he could have been my soulmate
me: he could have sat down next to me and we would have fallen in love and we’d have a cute story about how we met all because there was an empty seat next to me
me: that won’t happen now
me: because yOU TOOK THE FUCKING SEAT
me: you gave you the right
me: now he has to stand in a crowded car and i remain single
me: i hope you’re proud of yourself fucker
