how would pokemon souls work in the Trainertale AU?

mmm not sure, I’d still like to think the only ones with souls are the monsters? I feel the whole idea with pokemon having souls fits best within aus where the monsters are actual pokemon.

What if when you flee from every random encounter and somehow spare every pokemon in a trainer battle, it's a pacifist run but when you make every pokemon faint it's a genocide run?

The thing is tho, you cant progress unless you battle other pkmn. Likewise, when your playing pokemon and your tryna get through the tall grass to get somewhere, are you gonna wanna battle each and every pkmn you come across? Heck no. Some would have to faint while others wont (so in this case, the only logical run would be neutral). But this is just how I see it, you can interpret it as you want!

I love your trainertale AU! But question, do you maybe think that Team Chara dabbles in Shadow Pokemon a lá Cipher from the GCN games?

ah, probably shoulda mentioned this in that one ask aha. But they seem to like them, despite how they’re treated sometimes. They’ve always kinda had doubts about how evil Chara really was, and during the time they’ve spent working for them, they’ve been able to pick up signs that they might not be so bad:“hm, you guys actually caught it?”“yep, just like you wanted!” “but knowing us, that shouldn’t be too much of a surprise, right?” “… I suppose.“ *looks away and mumbles* "I’m …proud of you.” *gasp* "W-what? Did you just say…”“… your proud of us? Dogamy, they’re proud of us!”*both start chanting “they’re proud of us!”**flustered* “enough! gtfo and get back to work!”“sure thing, boss!” *both run out still chanting*if I wasn’t so gd lazy I’d comic this, but I think at some point something similar would happen haha
