Wisteria special #1
Wisteria special!
Story time: I have an indoor wisteria. I bought it off the internet and it was just a stick in dirt for about four months. Suddenly, it sprouted three branches! It was just those three for a month or two...and then it took off.
It outgrew its stake within days of starting to grow again, so I set it next to the wicker shelving unit that my morning glory is climbing around on top of. Now the wisteria is climbing up to meet the morning glory! I guided the wisteria vine over to the wicker and slotted it in once, and then just let it be; all those twists and turns are its own doing.
I'll post more pictures as it continues to grow and twine.
Sadness! The indoor morning glory got infested with spider mites and they spread to all the other vines except for the cypress vines.
So the indoor morning glory and luffa are gone completely.
And I cut the wisteria back real hard. It should hopefully be fine for growing season next year.

Lavender plant hanging in the foreground, and you can see the wisteria, cypress vine, and morning glory on the wicker shelving unit.
That cypress vine I'm growing up a string. It's thinner and weaker than its compatriots over on the wicker shelving unit, but it's still neat to look at.
Started another few cypress vines because the first one surprised me with its awesomeness. So now I have two climbing the wicker, and this one I've given a string.
The string is tied in with a macrame hangers tail, so it could choose from many strings to climb if it reaches the top of this one.
For your consideration: Morning Glory in wicker.
