Today was chest and arms. Felt really engaged in my workout. It was just me, my music and the weights. Love these kinds of days. Pro athletes call it ‘In The Zone’. I did four different chest press exercises to hit my mid-chest. I did three different bicep and tricep exercises to blast my arms. I did another six minute ab routine as well. I’ve been slacking in ab work last year so the slacking ends here. My goal this year is to reach 10% body fat. I like doing different variations of the same type of exercise to really activate that specific muscle group. It also breaks up the monotony and keeps my workouts fresh and exciting. Most importantly it keeps me engaged and focused on the here and now. Doing a three day split routine allows me to really hone in and fatigue each muscle without reaching exhaustion while still being effective. Also I can go low-carb (for me lo-carb is under 100 grams) yet still have the energy to get through my workouts.
