Finding time on his own was becoming increasingly harder with the chaos that was going on in the village. His reports to Zane were growing further and further apart, which he knew was displeasing the man. Now, he had finally managed to separate himself from everyone for a few minutes and had went off into the woods on his own. 

After a few glances around (although perhaps he didn’t look close enough), he determined no one had followed him and he slipped the gold necklace from his pocket, holding the blue charm in his palm. Cautiously, his voice lowered, he spoke into it.

“Sir?”

"Dante! How on earth are you- pregnant?!"

He jumped in alarm at the voice and whirled around to face the man with a panicked expression. “…I…I don’t know,” he eventually replied.

He flinched and stumbled back with a gasp, covering his eye with both of his hands. The pain throbbed through his head and he cringed, biting back a whine.
