22: A kiss that is leading to more, but is interrupted by a third party. For Tramini/Felix
I had this written once and lost it, lol. Teach me to try to write the draft on Tumblr. This is still pretty rough, but have some Tri/Felix on the bridge...
Felix was locking down the nav computer for the night when slender fingers surprised him by gliding across his hair, gently massaging his scalp. Mmm. I keep forgetting that we don’t have to worry about snoopy people now that the ship isn’t bursting at the seams with the Rift Alliance anymore. And at this hour, we should be the only ones awake.
He tilted the command chair back to meet Tramini’s soft smile with his own grin. “Hey! I thought you’d gone to bed.” I respect the Jedi, but man, did they do a number on her, and none of it makes a bit of sense to me. Why would they throw her at the shit they did and then assume she’d be alright when some of it went wrong?
“I was going to, but it looked rather empty and cold, and since you’re my problem solver...” Her fingers found his shoulders, carefully unkinking the knots she found there, her eyes gleaming mischievously. And with a spark of something else that sent a thrill down his spine. Dunno if it’s that Jedi training or just her, but she’s never been good at asking for what she wants. Don’t think she’s ever asked, even indirectly, before.
“Is that so? Well…” He suddenly swiveled the chair, catching her as it caught her off balance and swinging her into her lap. “I definitely have some ideas for warming you up, Master Jedi.”
She giggled, her arms going around his neck while one of her lekku went around the back of the seat to help her keep her balance. Damn, I love that giggle. Who’d have thought a Jedi Master could have such a cute giggle? “I’m counting on it, Lieutenant.”
He wrapped one arm around her shoulders, his other hand on the thigh exposed by the short bathrobe she wore, fingers stroking lightly across the warm skin. “On Hoth, we taught the troops that the best way to warm someone up was to share body heat.” He kissed the tip of her nose, eliciting another giggle.
“So you have a lot of practice at keeping someone warm. Good to know.” She brushed a light kiss across his lips, then playfully caught his lower lip between her teeth, eyes gleaming. Another thrill of excitement shot down Felix’s spine. This is definitely a new mood...and I can’t wait to see where it leads.
When she let go of his lip, he captured her mouth in a slow kiss that was as thorough as it was gentle, and her arms tightened around his neck. She moaned his name against his lips and turned toward him as his hand stroked her bare thigh, her fingers buried in his hair.
They finally came up for air, both breathless and panting. “Tri,” he started, about to suggest retiring to more privacy.
“Jedi, are you…?” Zenith’s voice brought them both upright, Tramini hastily pulling her bathrobe down from where it had crept up. Before she could jump up from his lap, Zenith looked up from his datapad and stopped dead in the doorway.
Shit. Talk about spoiling the mood. Zenith stared at the two, eyes wide, then his cheeks darkened just slightly, perhaps the first time Felix had ever seen him caught completely off guard. His lekku were hidden behind him, but he suspected that they were twitching.
“Um, right. Well, this message from Tai Corden is, uh, not that important.” His lips almost, almost, curved into a wry smile. No, I have to be imagining that! “Or it can certainly wait until you’ve, um, had some, uh, rest. Good night, Jedi, Lieutenant.”
With that, he vanished back through the doorway, and Tramini buried her face in Felix’s shoulder. “I should have remembered that Balmorra is on a different time than ship time. I’m going to just sink through the deck now.”
Felix chuckled, lightly stroking her lekku soothingly. “I’m coming with you. But was it my imagination, Tri, or did he look like he had no idea we were…?”
“I don’t know. It’s not like we’ve been that subtle since it was just the crew again, you haven’t slept in the crew quarters in weeks.” She raised her head, cheeks still flushed a dark blue, but there was a glimmer of humor in her eyes. “Our wedding invitation would have come as quite a shock in that case.”
Felix slid his arms under her knees and stood, eyes alight. “Well, we can worry about what Zenith knew or didn’t know later.” He carried her toward her cabin, delighting in her surprised giggle. “I haven’t forgotten that you asked me to take care of a little problem of a cold bed. And I always finish my assignments.”
