Oftentimes I hang out in voice chats (or VCs) on Discord with my critter friends and I get told all the time of how my vocal stims have spread to others and their friends and partners and so on. One of them is when I do some double speak in a particular intonation. It's hard to communicate over text but I might say "siiiilly, siiiilly," when I am calling someone or something silly. That stim in particular has wormed its way into critters' minds and I often hear several critters respond in the same way.
Recently, I've found out that that particular stim (and specifically me saying "siiiilly, siiiilly") has become a trigger for one of my friends that makes her sink into trance. For context, despite us talking about doing a session and her very clearly wanting to be hypnotized by me, we haven't done anything, and she's told me she hasn't really ever done a session with a hypnotist before (and has just listened to hypnosis files), so this was very delightful to find out. It's not something I ever expected, but honestly with the critters I hang out with, I really should've, haha.
Because we've almost always been hanging out in a no trance environment (usually while playing games in a public VC), I do my best to keep this friend awake as I don't feel like taking things to a more trance-specific or private space. And one very effective strategy I've found is what I tend to do while I'm trance edging someone, I just instruct her that she's not allowed to sink while in the no trance VC, that I'd be pulling her back up whenever it happens. At first, I tried using puppet-on-strings imagery like I tend to do but I found the imagery of holding her up with my strong tail much more fitting. And despite us not having done a session, it works very well, keeping her much more awake than simply telling her to wake up over and over again would. Even when I was AFK, it kept her up, and I made the joke (which also acted as a subtle suggestion to her clearly very suggestible mind) that with my infinitely stretching tail, I could easily keep her up and in place while I went off to do other things. It even kept her awake last night when she was high (and more high than she intended to on accident), where she told me she gets hypersensitive to hypnotic stuff, which was a surprise.
I also found out she dropped very deep when I did "let her go" when she left the VC, and I got to hear it last night when I let go of her before saying good night, meaning I was holding her up out of trance very easily despite her brain trying very hard to sink deep into trance. Very fun I have that much control over her already. ^w^
