i want to think about a trans triumvirate, either platonic or romantic, so do have any headcanons?

I haven’t done a poly triumvirate post in … ever, so this needs to be done cause if you don’t know, I love me some poly triumvirate! and trans??? you know me my #branding so well

so no one really knows how the three of them met.  like not even them. they can’t remember. They know vaguely when they met, but how or why is a mystery. They think it involves pride but they don’t know

Combeferre was the first one to tell the others he is trans. They didn’t know actually, but Combeferre had already transitions and works to help trans kids who didn’t have a supportive family like he did

Then came Enjolras, who was begining his transition around the time that he met Courf and Ferre. Both were very supportive and also the first ones he told. Enjolras had been living on his own for a while and began to fall in love with the two when they accepted him with open arms

finally Courf came out. he was really nervous because he had an internal battle about his identity. He was worried that Enj and Ferre would think he’s just being a copy cat but when he tells them, both are like ‘babe it’s ok, we know the feeling’

these three are a nightmare sometimes omg. like they have a kingsized bed but both Courf and Enj are bed hogs meaning Combeferre spends most nights getting 5% of the bed while enj and courf fight for the other 95%

TRANS!COURFEYRAC!!!! I want to yell that from the freaking rooftops.

Ok, so Courfeyrac thought that he was nonbinary for a while. like, a while. But the entire time, something felt … off. He couldn’t really place it, but he still felt uncomfortable with the pronouns that other people used. He ended up realizing that he’s trans on a really offhanded remark from someone on twitter who thought he was a guy based on his profile.

Combeferre is the first person he told, saying “hey guess what, you have a boyfriend”. Combeferre is hella supportive, cause of course he is, and he start going on tumblr and look for all posts about shopping for your trans bf. 

Courfeyrac wakes up in the middle of the night to Combeferre sitting up and looking at websites about clothing tips. He laughs softly and goes back to sleep, not wanting to ruin Ferre’s surprise.

When Courfeyrac starts binding, Combeferre makes sure he does it really safely. Like, he sets alarms for when Courfeyrac needs to take it off, he makes sure that it’s the proper size, and makes sure that Courf does exercises that will make sure his chest doesn’t get clogged up.

They went out for a dinner date, and Courf spent the whole night smiling when Combeferre said “my boyfriend will also have some water”. 

In the end, Courf is a trans boy with a loving and supportive boyfriend!

(evil grin) little tiny Marius on his first day at school, who happily introduces himself to tubby-baby Courf, and they get sat at the same desk, and little tiny Marius gains his dad's ever lasting respect for asking why he's sat with a little boy when all the others are boy-girl? Tubby baby Courf blushes all pink and gives him a little cuddle as thanks, because he's still a little sad that the teacher thinks his name is *Giselle*

Marius tells Courfeyrac that he doesn’t think that name suits him at all and Courfeyrac agrees wholeheartedly. They keep trying to think of a name that really fits. (Marius keeps suggesting Georges. Eventually Courfeyrac decides his likes Giovanni.)

Sometimes Courf gets teased for being so chubby too, but Marius always cheers him up by saying it makes him super soft and cuddly, like a teddy bear. It makes Courfeyrac the BEST friend to have at naptime. Marius hasnt ever had cuddles as nice as Courfeyrac’s naptime cuddles.

Sometimes people talk about them being “so cute” and “an adorable little couple” and someone asks Marius is Courfeyrac is gonna be his wife when he grows up and Marius says “no, he’s gonna be my husband, boys can’t be wives”. And he gets so pouty and annoyed if they try and argue and he just stomps off because who needs stupid people anyway.

Marius sometimes puts his foot in his mouth when talking about that girl he has a crush on with Courfeyrac. Something along the lines of "You were a girl right? Do you know what girls think like?" may have come up. (He was very flustered and apologetic afterwards. He just doesn't know how to deal, the babe.)

(Okay so the preview for this on my dash was just “Marius sometimes puts his foot in his mouth...” so I totally came into this expecting it to be baby Marius literally putting his foot in his mouth. Took me a moment to figure out it was not literal.)

Poor Marius is trying so hard, but he has been living the past 17/18 years of his life with Gillenormand. He’s still a little nervous around Bossuet (who is black and also an absolute giant) even though he knows, really, that he’s a great guy and the biggest sweetheart in the world. He’s still trying to figure out his thoughts about Jehan (genderfluid), and he’s a bit patchy with pronouns around xem. He almost actively avoids Feuilly because since he’s become aware of his privilege as a rich white boy, he’s too terrified of misstepping to interact with him. It’s not for lack of trying, but these things take a long time to unlearn.

So of course, at some point something pretty cissexist slips out (probably multiple times, lets be real) - “so, its like, you’re a boy in a girl’s body, isnt it?” “you must know how girls think, right?” - and Courfeyrac just kind of has to step back a moment because he knows Marius doesn’t mean it but it still kind of hurts to have one of his closest friends say stuff like that.

And he’s firm with Marius, telling him that what he said was wrong, and explaining why it’s a harmful view to have. He tells Marius he knows he doesn’t mean it, but he just needs to know and remember these things. And when Marius apologises, Courfeyrac hugs him (because he knows how Marius is, how anxious he gets, how he falls into guilt spirals and how scared he gets) and tells him that it’s okay, because it was a mistake, and now he knows better and in the future he can remember and be better.

And Marius does learn and does change and eventually he’s got a grip on everything and he acknowledges a lot of his upbringing was problematic and he recognises that certain things are wrong and corrects himself and his thoughts and he doesn’t slip up anymore and Courfeyrac is so proud of him for really working to unlearn all the bad stuff he was brought up with.

Trans Courf sharing his top tips and secrets on How To Pass Like The Man Our Cissexist Society Expects You To Be (and also how to be confident in your masculinity and realise society is not always right and there’s really no wrong way to be a man)

He teaches Marius make-up and contouring tricks, helps him get his first binder, tells him the best places to get clothes, shares some posture and body language secrets, helps him with voice training, tells him all about hormones and surgeries - not the bottom ones, though, you’ll need Feuilly for insider knowledge on those ones - and gives him all the support and pep talks he could ask for.

“Did Mulan mention needing a penis to be a man? No she did not!”

“You know who da man Marius? U da man.”

“You’ve got this, don’t worry. I’ve got your back. Go get ‘em, champ.”

Aha okay imagine trans courf being the center of the group & the darling of the friends and being really happy most of the time. But he has this one really shitty professor that insists on calling him "Miss Courfreyac" and being generally shitty. He skips a meeting because he was so upset about it this time. Enjolras cancels the meeting & they call Courf, asking if a group snuggle and movie party would help. Courf is so overjoyed that his friends would do this thing for him--they're over (1/2)

In about five minutes, and they make a massive cuddle den in Courf's living room, and all of Les Amis spend the rest of the night hugging him & passing him around for Maximum Cuddles

Perf. 

Courfeyrac is plopped in the middle of a shittonne of cushions and all of the other Amis pile up around him to snuggle him to Maximum Effect. Combeferre makes him some hot chocolate - just the way he likes, with squirty cream and mini marshmellows, which Combeferre bought specifically on the way over - and Enjolras pulls out all of his favourite movies. Bahorel brought snacks. Jehan has a little Beanie baby which he gives Courfeyrac to cuddle.

By the end of the evening Courfeyrac has fallen asleep in Bahorel’s lap, sprawled over him and Combeferre, Jehan and Feuilly both dozing against him, and well, looks like we’re having a sleep over too. Courfeyrac gets extra sleep snuggles AND a nice wake up with his friends and a nice breakfast with lots of smiles and laughter.

Combeferre is actually more concerned about Courfeyrac going off of hormones than Courfeyrac is. Ferre does research into alternatives: surrogates, adoption, etc, but Cour is adamant that he wants this, he wants the child. He wants the icky side effects, or at least is willing to live with them because this is so important to him and yes.

Courfeyrac is just like “Ferre I love you and I know you’re only looking out for me but there’s a reason I left it that shit all intact and didn’t get all the surgeries done.”

And Combeferre is just so worried because seriously, pregnancy is gonna suck. Like, aside from morning sickness and backache and your insides getting all squished up, Courfeyrac’s going to have to come off his hormones, and probably deal with a shit-tonne of dysphoria and misgendering because society is cissexist and really hasn’t gotten the whole “yes he’s pregnant, yes he’s still a man” thing, and Ferre doesn’t want him to have to deal with that.

And Courf just gives him a little kiss on the tip of the nose because he’s so, so happy that Combeferre cares and is worried but yes, he’s sure, and yes, he’ll be okay.
