what would grantaire do when ferre is feeling dysphoric?

i’m glad you asked cause I shit you not, i had a dream about this recently! (nb grantaire btw)

Grantaire is very big on destroying gender rolls, but when Ferre feels dysphoric, all that shit is out the window. If Combeferre wants to do all the typically manly things, he can

this means the two of them walking around in boxers. only boxers. Combeferre sometimes wears a shirt, but normally he wears a binder with his boxers 

Grantaire goes overboard with the nicknames. for example: “Hey baby boy, you want some food?” “mcmanly, what movie do you wanna watch?” “how’s the most handsome man on planet earth doing’

Combeferre doesn’t feel like he has a low enough voice, so Grantaire keeps his voice as high as he can to put it in comparison

The two of them go out an get hair cuts, it’s really therapeutic and helps Ferre feel more masculine

Grantaire shaves their beard because Ferre struggles to grow one so they show him you don’t need a beard

they also wear a lot of feminine things to put ferre’s masculinity in contrast

Grantaire makes sure that Ferre binds safely, and gives him extra attention when he has to take the binder off

they try to distract ferre with movies and just fun things to keep his mind off of it

at the end of the day, Grantaire cuddles up to their boyfriend and holds his boyfriend in his arms as they fall asleep

Combeferre buys all LGBT+ books and reads them before any of his friends to make sure all the content is accurate and doesn’t kill off the characters unnecessarily

he also makes sure all binders are safe and fit correctly

he subtly makes sure that people that are around his friends are good people 

you remember that time he shut marius down? well imagine that but 10x worse because it’s trying to figure out who’s a complete dick

he’s writing his own book and is making sure it’s v inclusive!

lgbt+ characters? yep! POC characters? you know it! disabled characters? hell yeah! 

his social media is filled with historical facts about trans people

he lowkey really enjoys Britney Spears, that’s not related to this topic, but i think you need to know that

He feels dysphoric because he can’t grow a beard and he’s very lanky, but all his friends are supportive

(bahorel supported him by shaving his beard and scared everyone)

I’m so sorry for the late response! I’ve been really out of it the last few days! And I haven’t done any Combetaire so let’s go!

Combeferre doesn’t really talk much about his gender, mainly because he just wants to be seen as a guy, but he is very willing to educate people about what it’s like to be trans

Grantaire is much more open about the fact that they really don’t care about their gender, and they haven’t figured out a way to describe it other than *shrugs*

They really start liking Ferre because of the way he just knows himself. Like, R is just amazed by him

Ferre starts liking R back when they stand up for someone who doesn’t exactly pass, but, as R yelled at the transphobe, that doesn’t matter

The two of them are dancing around each other and everyone knows it and are really done with it

no one pushes them together, they actually work it out on their own

Combeferre was explaining safe ways to bind and the boy had asked if they were together

they blushed and said no, but the boy told them they should be

grantaire asks combeferre out and ferre obviously says yes

they open a shop for transgender teens who aren’t out to their parents to help them get supplies they need

it’s all decorated in R’s art

ferre and r are really happy being able to express themselves the way they want to and they’re happy and oh i love them

i want to think about a trans triumvirate, either platonic or romantic, so do have any headcanons?

I haven’t done a poly triumvirate post in … ever, so this needs to be done cause if you don’t know, I love me some poly triumvirate! and trans??? you know me my #branding so well

so no one really knows how the three of them met.  like not even them. they can’t remember. They know vaguely when they met, but how or why is a mystery. They think it involves pride but they don’t know

Combeferre was the first one to tell the others he is trans. They didn’t know actually, but Combeferre had already transitions and works to help trans kids who didn’t have a supportive family like he did

Then came Enjolras, who was begining his transition around the time that he met Courf and Ferre. Both were very supportive and also the first ones he told. Enjolras had been living on his own for a while and began to fall in love with the two when they accepted him with open arms

finally Courf came out. he was really nervous because he had an internal battle about his identity. He was worried that Enj and Ferre would think he’s just being a copy cat but when he tells them, both are like ‘babe it’s ok, we know the feeling’

these three are a nightmare sometimes omg. like they have a kingsized bed but both Courf and Enj are bed hogs meaning Combeferre spends most nights getting 5% of the bed while enj and courf fight for the other 95%

babes help with proper measuring for binders and it’s wonderful 

Combeferre who is satisfied with his transition and helps his boyfriends reach the level of comfort he’s at

They totally freak out when they meet JBM cause like ‘yay more poly people who we don’t have to explain every detail about our relationship to’

enjolras wasn’t too sure about polyamory at first but then he was crushing on both ferre and courf and he was sold like, ok, i wouldn’t consider myself poly but damn i’m open to it (@ me)

did you know i love poly ships with all my heart???

i just need more trans combeferre. if you can tie clothing into this that would be fantastic.

I’m on mobile, so this might not look good.

Combeferre loves flannels and button ups. He also wears vests. It helps make his chest look flatter.

He gets uncomfortable and misses some more comfortable clothes, but he just can’t wear them without feeling extremely dysphoric.

He’s gone through many phases of trying different clothes, the snap back phase was the best, before settling on his button ups.

When he was binding, he loved to get fun ones. He found it quite funny because whenever he’d get undressed from his formal clothes, he would see funny patterns.

He has a secret beanie collection he only wears around Grantaire. No one knows about it.

He has small feet, which makes it hard to shop for shoes. He special orders stuff, but when he finds a pair that fits, he wears them every day.

can i have really short trans combeferre who is really insecure / dysphoric about his height?

of course you can! tbh i think about stuff like this a lot

Combeferre is normally made out to be tall but in reality he’s probably either 5′3 or 5′4 (160cm - 162cm)

he was always told he was gonna grow taller but that just never happened and he stayed short

a lot of his friends used to tease him about it and that got to him a little, but it was all in good nature and they would do the same for people who are really tall ( @ bahorel) 

most of his problems are internalized. he always thought about how tall guys are and how no one would want a short guy

he hated it when he was called a twink because he’s so insecure about his height 

before he transitioned, he thought that his feeling of discomfort was just because he was treated like a girl, but the discomfort about being short didn’t go away when wearing a binder and passing for a guy

he loves finding out celebrities that are shorter than he thought 

he really loves that Prince was 5′2 and Daniel Radcliffe is 5′5

he wears shoes that make him taller, but he won’t wear heels because it makes him too dysphoric

Combeferre stands during meetings while all his friends sit so he feels taller

there’s no real happy ending here, but hopefully you and ferre can feel better about your height
