Tumblr explicitly allowing scam blogs of AI generated "trans women" with huge bulges to exist on here and advertise their WhatsApp number to scam people with, and allowing these scam blogs to post unrestricted while *actual* trans women that have not been made up by some diffusion engine can barely even write the word "trans woman" without the post being marked 18+ sure is a fun way of making this website "the queerest place on the internet"

The person I have a crush on is a semi-closeted trans woman, some of my friends are trans men, and while I am ALL about uplifting trans people and good trans representation (both because of them and on general principle), I feel like Tumblr fetishizes trans people and it's a little gross. It's dehumanizing. The trans people in my life are wonderful, but they're not ethereal perfect angels. They're humans with flaws and baggage, like anyone else, and should be treated as such.
This, I feel this. Tumblr dehumanises and objectifies trans people like nothing else. That, and people here seem to have a thing for enforcing gender roles on them (for example, the post I reblogged recently, where characters show the slightest sign of “feminine” or “masculine” characteristics and tumblr immediately assumes they’re trans because of these stereotyped gender characteristics).
It’s pretty sad, actually. I feel like it’s come from a good place but it’s just got so horribly warped and distorted.
