Outed-Part II: The Panic Sets In
Thump Thump
Georgi never thought this day would come.
Thump Thump
The day where everyone knew his secret, the one he’s kept since he was a teenager, scared and alone.
Thump Thump
He’d expected to come out when he was ready to the ones he cared about, but never to the entire world at once, based on a photo of himself. The man from the press had no right. He had no right to take Georgi’s photo as he left the hot springs, and now it was too late to say or do anything.
Within hours, the world would know he was a trans man. They’d know based on the fact that his biology was violated with every sense of the word, and he couldn’t help but be in a panic. His heart was like a widespread fire in his chest, how it burned to even exist as his fingers tingled, his toes went numb, his head was dizzy, his fear. Oh god, his fear.
Georgi couldn’t get on a plane to escape, he couldn’t run into town to go to a hotel, there was nowhere he could go. This Onsen had gone from a vacation spot, to a prison.
THUD THUD THUD
“Georgi!” Calls a familiar voice, though in his panic kept him from identifying them at first. It was a Russian accent, it had to be someone he knew from his own team. The door swung open, having him jolt in his pile of blankets that hid him by the closet, he looks up to the voice. It’s Mila.
Mila runs over, throwing her lit up phone aside on the bed as she threw her arms around him. “Gosha, Yakov just called, are you okay?”
Did she know yet? Had one of the people he’d been lying to all this time know? “I-I’m fine...”
“You’re not fine, you’re shaking like a leaf... we need to get you out of here before the press shows up.... where’s your makeup? We’re going to disguise you.”
She must have seen.... and.... she didn’t seem to care, she seemed terrified for him. Mila was a person who would help. He had one person supporting him. Yakov called her, he must have explained everything.... the man who’d been the only other person in the world to know of the struggle he’d been through. Coach Yakov had to hear that his student had been outed through the media somehow.
Another thunder of steps runs in, Victor. Hadn’t he passed out drunk a few hours earlier? Regardless, the silver haired man skids to a stop and closes the door behind them. “No use, Mila. No way out. Cars have already pulled up.”
Fuck. Victor knew. Everyone knew. The littlest hope within him that the footage wouldn’t be convincing was gone.
There was a hideous feeling that was almost like each dysphoric nerve in his body was screeching to be relieved of this ache and fear, and he couldn’t silence it.
God dammit.
God fucking dammit.
“Gosha.” Victor grabbed some clothes from his suitcase, giving him some pants to cover up with along with the robe. “You need to take deep breaths, Yakov told us only the basics, and we need you to be clear headed with us, okay? Are you alright?”
Georgi had no idea how to answer, he just stared at the two with utter heartbreak, that he had not been the one to come out to them. He had no choice in the matter. This was his literal nightmare, and he had no idea how to respond.
“He’s panicking.” Victor sighed, looking over to Mila, “I need you to tell everyone he’s alright, but we need to keep him away from windows. Could you ask Mama Katsuki if there’s a private room with no windows we could bring him to?” The red headed woman stands up and rushes out the door, closing it behind her, shadows running with her in the hallway as she explains to others who are with her.
“Vitya...” Georgi chokes, tears running down his cheeks, gaining the attention and silencing the room. It was now, only now, he could hear the commotion that came from the way skaters and guests scurried down hallways to close windows, how there was a group of people stationing outside the onsen, and how voices carried through the thin walls. “I’m..... I’m so sorry...”
Victor looked as though he’s crushed by these words, such a normally cool man, “You haven’t a thing to be sorry for, Georgi.... Can I pick you up?”
“N-NO! No... No need....” Georgi mumbles, wiping his eyes with shaken hands, looking to his knees that rattled just as much. “I-I can walk.”
“Right.... alright.... don’t you worry, Gosha, we’re going to take care of you. Don’t you dare lose hope in this. We’ll keep you safe.”
Part of him wanted to believe everything would be alright, but Georgi had a feeling that it was far from over, and he hasn’t experienced the worst of it.
