Just a thought - I've noticed a lot of people having issues with people's art, ideas and personal interpretations of fictional characters. I'm specifically talking about the cyberpunk fandom and the popular headcanon that Kerry is trans.

A headcanon is a theory. It's an idea that expands on an established theme, character or story.

Fanfiction, fan art, thought experiments and interpretations in fandom spaces should be encouraged. It's a great way to grow your critical thinking skills, too.

If you interpret Kerry as trans — fuck yeah. Why not? We know that his cyberware is for his lungs and throat, so why can't it be designed for more than just singing? Maybe it also deepens his voice on a level that otherwise might be hard to achieve naturally. Maybe the gold plating under his pecs have a dual function. Maybe they could be there to decorate his top surgery scars, but also serve as an access point for a ripperdoc to open up his chest cavity and tinker with his cyber lungs or throat.

That is the beauty of fanfiction - the beauty of creativity. I love to see it. I love reading character studies and headcanons. I love broadening my horizons with ideas I never would have considered otherwise.

If you don't agree with this head canon, that is also totally okay! I personally think he is Cis, but at the end of the day, it doesn't really matter if he is trans or not. He's a fantastic character either way.

My problem is when you are trying to put someone down for sharing their ideas. It's not hard to ignore something you don't agree with if it isn't harming anybody. And let's not forget that Kerry is a fictional character made of words and pixels.
