So I've wanted to get more about my AU out there, and who knows maybe I'll try writing smth. Shout out to @highabovethecloudssomewhere for inspiring me to finally post this ^^

UPDATE: tried my hand at writing it! The light in your eyes
- Bakugo and deku are still childhood friends. They both wanted to play the piano (and be rivals y'know) until one day Deku saw Todoroki at a recital and decided he wanted to be on stage with this mysterious boy who put his everything into music. So he switched to violin, and Baku didn't take that well. He ended their friendship and never really told deku the reason why.
Bakugo felt betrayed by his best friend and he was jealous of this random pianist stealing him away. Bakugo and Mido didn't see each other for years until he hears that an exceptionally talented violinist moved on via audience choice and he decides to check it out, and imagine his surprise when it's his Deku and that half-and-half bastard, and the last thing deku does before going offstage is faint.
-todo took up piano bc his mom would play it and he wanted to be like her. His dad got back from a far away business trip, but when he comes back he sees potential in his sons new skills. He makes him play the piano, day and night. He'd beat and tell at him and make him go without food until he got everything perfect. But, for brief moments, his mom would take him to the piano while his father was away, and remind him what music really means and how it's used to communicate feelings you can't speak. She eventually snaps, and the boiling water incident happens, and she's sent away.
One night, his father went too far, and with her little brothers life on the line, Fuyumi phones the police and their father is arrested. Fuyumi becomes Shotos legal guardian. Years later and he hasn't touched the piano or visited his mom; the shame is too much.
Then, one day, under the social pressure of Uraraka, he goes to the park. Y'see, this guy ochas known since childhood really wants to meet Kirishima and ochas being dragged as a buffer, but she doesn't want to third wheel so she's dragging Todo along too. He arrives at the park first, and discovers a pair of shoes and a binder up in a tree and grabs them without thinking. When the pretty echo of a melodica draws him near, he sees a boy atop a structure, entertaining some children. He goes to take a picture when the wind blowing the boys shirt up a little too high and it hits shoto that the binder he's holding is this green-haired boys. Who immediately starts crying upon seeing shoto with his phone out. As shoto desperately tries to calm this stranger down, Ura and Kiri show up and the boy immediately perks up.
After a brief hello, he introduces himself as Midoriya Izuku, and he rushes over to his violin case and declares he has to go bc the competition is about to start. Shoto is about to deny going, but the Midoriya grabs his hand and suggests he comes along. And you know what happens next
-ocha and deku met not long after Bakugo left dekus life. They immediately hit it off and come out as trans to each other fairly early. (Ocha doesn't know about deku being ill). She sets up Kiri and deku bc she wants deku to live a little. When deku and Todo perform with each other for the first time, she sees the look they share on stage but doesn't have enough heart to break it to Kiri (little does she know, Kiri knew basically the whole time. Have you seen the way deku looks at Todo? You can't get more obvious). When deku faints the second time she feels a bit betrayed he never told her about this, but she's not mad for long.
When deku tells her he doesn't have much time left, she makes it her personal mission to get deku and Todo to realize how they feel about each other. She's not successful in the end, there just wasn't enough time.
The light in your eyes
Shouto Todoroki couldn't remember when he started playing the piano.
Years after his father's arrest; Shouto is still trapped in his winter storm. No light or sound can make it through the snow and wind clogging his senses.
Until, one day, his thaw comes in the form of a curly-haired violinist.
