I just saw the Wicked movie today. (I have seen the stage show before, but it's been awhile). I couldn't help but relate Dr. Dillamond's experience (and the experience of the animals) to the experiences of trans people, specifically trans teachers now. And I think thats kinda the point

Just a reminder that all media you consume has roots in politics (even though transgender people existing or teaching shouldn't be a political debate). No media is apolitical.

Had my first day of work today as an aid for special needs kids at an elementary school. Had to fight back tears when the first one addressed me as Mr T (my last name is too difficult for most people to pronounce, so that’s how I introduced myself)

To everyone who told me my existence is perverse and not suitable for children, to everyone who said no one will ever see me the way I want to be seen, to my asshole of a father who told me I would never get a job, never be respected, and never be loved as a man,
