Alrighty! I frequently write in drug use. I have zero experience with drug use. Howsabouts cocaine, morphine (mixing of the two if you have experience with that), and I dunno, maybe chloroform, just in case?
I actually just did an ask on cocaine - it's in my "writing ref" tag or you can find it by just clicking on my blog.So - morphine on it's own - for me induces a severe itching sensation like bugs are crawling around under your skin. This does, however, go away with prolonged use and doesn't effect the rest of the high. It's actually... it's nice, in a way. It's very SATISFYING to scratch. It's not unbearable. Itching is a rather common side effect, actually, but if your character doesn't experience it - they will probably still get nausea. Nausea is really, really common. Dosage is probably in the half-gram to full gram range per day for a serious user. Now morphine, keep in mind, /is/ heroin; just less intense. So what they're experiencing is something like a heroin high, slowed down and less intense. It's very comfortable, very chill, a soft, warm high, like falling into a pillow that doesn't end. You just go down, and down, and down, and it's drowsy and pleasant. It's like having an orgasm all over your skin, but... nice. Very calm. Very... it's not pressing. I have anxiety and morphine just... drifting away. Memory loss seems to be common; as well as a sense that you're emotionless, or things that would upset you just sort of don't really matter. There's the usual drug feeling of your skin being slightly too hot and too smooth, in a very good way, but mainly - like disassociating, like the moment you reach orgasm only watered down and drawn out.Personally I have not mixed the two and I would not. Cocaine is an incredibly stimulating drug, where morphine is a depressant; if you're going to mix drugs, you want to go with complimentary and not conflicting effects. However, if I WAS going to mix them, I'd do the cocaine first, and when it started to wear off, do the morphine to ease myself off of it. Not together. Speeding your heart up and slowing it down simultaneously will fuck you right up.Chloroform I unfortunately can't help you with.
