haiii, you said you had dyslexia ? id like to hear some transition tips if that's possible
Okay so, i’m going off of both me and my sibling’s history since we both have it!
First and most important thing, the “what it’s like to read with dyslexia” images are wrong! The words aren’t blurred (unless i’m not wearing my glasses) and they aren’t shaky, the images look the same to me on paper/monitor as it does anyone else, sometimes things just are scrambled or just plain missing.
I’m not sure how to mimic that fully, but maybe you could deliberately skip letters/words, or mix them up as your reading!
Another thing for me personally is i struggle reading smaller letters, they tend to mix up the most, as well as set fonts! So maybe you could try and set the font on electronics to be one easier to read (They’re dyslexia friendly fonts, plus comic sans works amazingly for reading) and also adjust the size of the letters to be larger for whatever is comfortable for you.
When reading physical stuff, trace your finger under the words, it makes it so reading the words is a lot easier, as for electronics, if it’s a computer highlight the text as you read and if it’s smaller like a phone just do the same as you would for a physical book. Now it doesn’t work 100% but it does lessen how many words/letters i’ll miss, so if you do that occasionally skip one or two words/letters!
