yo so i'm going on a five hour drive to the beach today and since i have some time to kill i was thinking about starting writing that odyssey roadtrip au you were talking about a while back- one issue, though, i've never actually read the odyssey. do you have any simpler english translations (preferably in digital format) to use as a source so that i'm not entirely winging this?

that could pretty easily be translated into “Gemini, slay!”

a command instead of a title

and y’know,,,that name originates from Gems full name,,,,

except what if it didn’t?

what if the command came before the name?

what if her name used to be her orders? And then she made it into a title, and into a surname?

I imagine her just, freshly free, nervous, first time disobeying orders or not being near her commander and she is freaking out. She finds some place to stay temporarily and they ask for a full name.

Gem doesn't have a last name. She never had family in her previous "home" so it was never needed. So when they ask "Gemini...... ?" she just mutters slay, that is her command, that is the word that always follows her name. They can't hear it quite right and ask "Tay? Gemini Tay?" and she nods. Maybe she's glad they misheard because it seperates her from her weapon command, maybe she's just to embarrased about muttering to correct them, maybe she's scared to correct them because she sees this person as above her, they're providing her with shelter, they are her superior, she will respect and agree with and obey them.

so, remember in my living weapon Gem doodle where she had the sword with "Gemini" spelt in galactic

possibility: She's named after the sword.

"Gemini" is the name of the sword, the wielder didn't have a name. But the only thing they ever call for is the sword anyway, so it doesn't matter much. They can both answer to Gemini, they're basically one and the same, after all.

This could also add a lot more weight to her majorly going by Gem instead of Gemini. That is her choosing her own name. That is her finally choosing a piece of her identity for herself. Even though it's just a nickname... it's important to her. Because it's her nickname.

You're trans Gem art is making me, for lack of a better word, gghgegnhrfongeacn again so I am here to discuss. So, can there be a trans ruler alliance of some sort? With my head cannons it would be Gem, Shrub, Sausage, and maybe Pearl and Kathrine I haven't decided yet. -☯️

I think there should be a ‘trans ruler’ alliance. I was gonna say a ‘gender is fake’ alliance but that would be all of them so not really an alliance.

Katherine and Gem have to be there (The trans ally and her trans ally), fWhip and Sausage by extension (fwhip because good brother and sausage is… a specimen all right), Shrub because canon she/he/they.

Pearl maybe? But then it feels like just a wither roses and friends group. My heart is saying c!pix is mad agender. He was born before gender was even a thing, he doesn’t need that. So maybe him?
