Fanfic Review 1

For my first fanfic review I wanted to start with something simple but sweet from one of my personal favorite authors!

Title: In Close Proximity

Summary: In which Megatronus and Orion go out to dinner and are forced to get snuggly when a drunk patron keeps coming close to accidentally punching Orion in the face.

Content Warning?: Mostly SFW, has some slight suggestive themes with characters feeding each other foods and suggestive sexual stuff, but would rate it a 13+ fic at the most if I was being safe

My thoughts (SPOILERS):

The fic is a lovely little read for anyone who loves MegOp in general. The setting of this story takes place in the Transformers Prime universe, specifically when Cybertron was still under the class system and Megatronus was a gladiator and Orion Pax was still an archivest. Almost all of this writers stories take place in this unique time when Megatron and Optimus were still getting to know each other before the meeting with the council, and explores the ideas of what would happen if they were to fall in love.

This is a shorter but no less beautifully written story of Megatronous taking Orion to a fancy restaurant/bar of some sorts, and due to unforeseen circumstances ending up becoming physically closer together then attended and confessing their feelings to one another because of it.

Despite the simplicity of this story the author does an amazing job making the setting feel alive and the fun of watching Orion slowly realizing why Megatronous took him to the bar in the first place, while Megatronous is unaware the Orion didn't understand the more romantic reason he ask Orion out in the first place.

I also like how after they find out that they like each other, they're still stuck in the bar thanks to the drunkard for at least a little longer, allowing the two to simmer in their new open feelings for each other. Doing something as simply feeding and talking to one another. Despite no sex scenes the story still allows itself to come to a satisfying conclusion at the end, as the author perfectly captures the personalities of Megatronous and Orion to a amazing degree, making them a joy to watch.

So to put it short, AMAZING story and author, one of my personal favorites. Would highly recommend if you're looking for something sickeningly sweet and romantic to read

(The score might seem a little low despite the high praise I gave it, but trust me, when I review the other works of this author you'll understand why. This is still a great story, but the writing and stories only get better the more you read.)

Megatron stood in the commanding room, proud and tall. He was thinking of what to do next. Something that’ll have Optimus on his knees before him. That would be a wonderful sight to see. His loyal followers (excluding Starscream, he’s most definitely not loyal to him), stood around him, watching him cautiously.

Starscream broke the silence by sneering, “I hoped that dreaded Autobot pet Miko is vanquished soon.”

Knock Out looked at him in amusement. “Why? Because she kicked your aft?”

“Ugh! No it is not!” The Seeker yelled, stomping his pede like a child.

Predaking looked down at him in annoyance, but his optics soon turned more soft in pride. “I must admit, she fought admirably against you. Clever of her to use the Apex Armor against you.”

The Seeker turned towards the Predacon in disgust. “Are you praising a human?” Predaking started for a few moments then smirked slowly. Shockwave modded his head in agreement.

“Yes. Yes I am.” He responded. Starscream huffed, crossing his arms.

Soundwave stood next to Megatron when a laughing emoji popped up at his screen. The Warlord saw and chuckled quietly, also amused.

Miko would’ve made a fine gladiator, he thought.

“Achoo!” Miko sneezed loudly. Bulkhead tilted his helm downwards to see her, who was sitting on the yellow couch, sniffing and groaning.

“You alright there, Miko?” He asked.

“Yeah, I’m fine.” She looked up at him with a grin. “You know, there’s a myth that a person sneezes when someone is talking about them.”

Bulkhead’s optics widened at that. “Who could be talking about you?”

Miko took this chance to jump up onto the couch, spreading her arms out, and said loudly, “Could be those cons! Probably upset I can kick their aft!”

Her guardian chuckled. “Yeah, probably.”

“Language!” Ratchet yelled from the background.
