BREAKDOWN REDEMPTION AU/TFP SELF INSERT MASTERPOST
(this is mostly just ideas and a basic framework of what I plan to do)
Abigail van der Heide (Abbie)
Abbie has been hurt and left behind by many people in her life so she isolates to cope and out of fear of more rejection. She doesn't feel like she has much of a reason to be or a purpose in life.
She's a true blue tomboy who loves rock, rap, metal, video games and camping. She's kind hearted and always willing to help out, regardless of the cost to herself. She's introverted but is ride or die when she becomes close with someone.
- starts during "Crossfire" (season 2 episode 7)
- eliminates the "Breakdowns corpse being used by MECH and Cylas" arc
- MECH instead uses their previous data collected during Breakdowns capture by them, the clone of Optimus and data from stealing Bulkheads T-Cog to create a non-transforming mock Cybertronian body for their dying leader ("The Human Factor")
- Arachnid doesn't slice up and kill Breakdown but slits his throat and leaves him for dead instead, only to be found by a young woman who lives in a small town nearby who happened to be biking by
- She runs away at first (Breakdown thinks) but returns with an welding mask, gloves and TIG torch from her bag and seals the wound in his neck
- She leads weak Breakdown to an abandoned scrap yard a few miles outside town where she happens to spend a lot of her time
- She sells still good parts online and uses the scrap to create sculptures (an homage to Dean from the Iron Giant)
- Breakdowns voice is changed due to Arachnids attack clipping his voice synthesizer (new VA: Travis Willingham?)
- Breakdown finds himself bonding with the woman and decides to contact Bulkhead and the Autobots on a discreet line and switch sides after the Decepticons have left him for dead multiple times now (in between "Nemisis Prime" and "Armada")
- the young woman ends up ironically falling for Bulkhead, much to Breakdowns chagrin (during "Toxicity" she confesses to an unconscious Bulkhead and bonds with him more in "Hurt", despite knowing he did not hear her confession). Bulkhead and Breakdown also settle their grudge during a training match. (Breakdown beats him but says something about Bulkhead still putting up a good fight despite his injuries)
- Knockout and the rest of the Decepticons believe Breakdown is dead until nearing the end of season 2
- Knockout begins his plan to defect and sabatoge Megatron's plans once he learns the truth about Breakdown and that neither Megatron nor Dreadwing cared to see if his partner had survived the encounter with Arachnid ("Hard Knocks")
- Starscream alone is responsible for "Thirst"
- Abbie is attacked by Soundwave in "Minus One" after she decides to stick around the base with Ratchet. Her injuries are near fatal, hanging on to life in "Persuasion" thanks to June.
- In "Synthesis" , Knockout convinces June to assist him in a surgery that would save Abbie's life: a cybertronian exoskeletal implant based off information gathered from the Apex Armor and C.Y.LA.S.. It is extremely risky and the long term affects are unknown, but it would save her life.
- Abbie survives surgery and though struggling with her new cybernetic abilities/parts, she insists on helping in "Deadlock".
- (Maybe?) While Breakdown and Knockout decide to remain on Earth with Ratchet and the kids, Abbie finds herself capable of surviving on Cybertron, and decides that life on Earth hasn't been fulfilling for her and she never felt like she had a purpose like she does now, so she remains with the Autobots and finally tells Bulkhead how she feels. She becomes Earth's designated liaison on Cybertron.
