What if Swindle had told Thrash and Mo the truth?
In this case, Swindle would have met Thrash and Mo in the same way as in the series, but here the difference is that Mo would ask him why he attacked the truck.

When meeting with the decepticon, Mo tells him that they will only help him find his brother and once they find him they will separate. Swindle reacts violently and threatens them.
Thrash confronts Swindle while Mo calls for help. During the fight, Thrash tells him that this is not the correct way to search for Hardtop and that they can find another solution.
Swindle points out how much he misses his brother and that knowing he was going to be abandoned again upset him. Thrash manages to calm him down and Mo agrees to help Swindle without being threatened.
Dot and Bumblebee come to the rescue but Thrash and No stop them. They explain the situation to him and decide to let him go if he promises to leave them alone.
Thrash offers Swindle to join them. He declines the offer since all he wants is to find his brother, not to mention that he feels he won't be welcome in the barn for being a Decepticon.
The family returns home with Thrash depressed that he will miss Swindle.
With what happened with Nightshade and Tarantula, I feel like this Swindle and Thrash thing could have ended the same. Well, it has been shown that the decepticons do seek to change.
