New Verse!
(I made a new verse for Grim, that being the Transformers!Verse. I do have some differences according to series, but the basic background is, mostly, the same.

Background
Afterwire (Chainclaw in Beast Wars) was a Cybertronian Peace Officer from the far future. She was from a post-war Cybertron, so she has not seen a Decepticon on the battlefield. Just in cells (series dependent). She was very intelligent, often being mistaken for a scientist whenever she was tinkering with things. However, she always explained that she much preferred to help keep the peace in person, not through invention. She was stoic at the time, focusing on her duties and trying not to form close connections to her comrades. She knew they were likely to be terminated at any given moment and she did not want to feel the pain of such a loss.
Eventually, a criminal managed to travel through time. (How depends on the series. In Beast Wars, she was part of the facility waiting for Protoform X. In all others, the criminal stole an experimental time machine and personal teleportation device.) She was assigned to apprehend the criminal, her being the most capable of quickly learning the time traveling technologies they had previously developed. She agreed to have it and the personal teleportation device installed, despite them still being experimental. She said her goodbyes and left quickly to ensure the job was done in a timely manner.
The first time she traveled, an accident occurred. She crashed, managing to damage her memory processor. (This is where the Beast Wars background ends, her landing between Maximal and Predacon territory.) She was forced to quickly scan any vehicle, a horse-drawn carriage being the closest, and activating her holoform. She managed to land in Victorian England.
During some confused wandering, she was taken in by a wealthy family, the Greens. She was trained to become an assassin by them and, even if they called her a part of the family, they treated her more like a tool than a sentient being. They called her Grim, convincing her she was from Earth, created to assist their family. In case she was stuck in holoform, she created a button to allow herself to force a transformation in her vehicle mode. It was only to be used in case of emergency.
She, eventually, had an accident when creating fuel. She further damaged her memory processor, forgetting all about her own abilities beyond the time traveling and teleportation with ‘her machine’. She became stuck in holoform, not realizing she was not human. Her family convinced her she was completely human, teaching her the basics of care for both herself and her Cybertronian body. She would often awaken in her vehicle with no memory of how she got there. It would happen once every five days, but her family told her it was nothing to worry about.
One day, she got a rather unusual job. Kill a man who claimed to be a time traveler. He had been causing problems in the U.S.A. and they wanted him gone. She accepted, trying to get to where her target before he could travel elsewhere, in case what he claimed was true. It was. She began to hunt him down through time, not realizing he was the reason she had been on Earth to begin with.

She is extremely protective of her allies

She was most likely found by the humans first, making fuel when she believed no one was looking
She prefers to stay in the base than fight, mostly to ensure nothing goes wrong there
She tinkers with making better defenses and, possibly, better ways to repair the others
She likes interacting with minicons and refuses to use them unless she’s exhausted all other options
She feels sympathy for Starscream and hatred for Megatron. Megatron reminds her too much of her adoptive father
Animated
She was a part of the Elite Guard. She would vaguely recognize Ultra Magnus and Sentinel
When she was on Cybertron, she did not much care for Sentinel. Too big an ego for her tastes
She had seen Megatron behind bars, but she has never faced him head on. She does not believe she could take him on by herself
She was given an energy dampener before leaving, but it can only do so much
The experimental technology, whenever used, left odd residual energy. The energy would take an hour to completely leave
She would become far more relaxed, even if she regained her memory
Prime
Grim is really good at finding energon on Earth, given how long she had been there
She would not want to get involved in the war, mostly because she is a time traveler
She is forced to fight either way
She works very well with humans and enjoys the company of the children
Bayverse
Grim is the least likely to kill a fellow Cybertronian, particularly when she finds out when she’s actually from
She would be willing to help find information, though
She would want to stay, even if she knows she couldn’t
Not a fan of working with the human military, knowing what humans tended to be like
Would listen to Optimus out of respect, even before regaining her memory
