Once upon a time she’d been afraid of Sideswipe, but she assumed that was everyone's natural reaction when meeting a Cybertronian for the first time. Now? Well now he was a friend and had wormed his way into her heart. She was terrified of losing him, but it was a very real possibility every day and she knew that. Her question was a dumb one and maybe a little insensitive. Every day could be their last together.
She flinched at his outburst, chest tightening, but she didn’t blame him. He’d suffered through and survived so much. She wished she could do more for him and all of his comrades. “You’ve got nothing to apologize for,” she murmured, moving to climb up on his leg and take a precarious seat. It wasn’t exactly comfortable, but that was a small sacrifice to make. “Don’t worry about me… I might be squishy, but I’m tougher than you give me credit for… I’ll be okay,” which was a lie. Physically she might be alright if he was gone, but emotionally? She’d be a wreck.
“I hope you’re wrong,” she murmured, staring at his chest plate. “I hate this war…” she whispered, closing her eyes and willing herself not to cry.
