Members of the lgbtq+ community are constantly attacked and murdered just for their sexual orientation, gender identity, and ethnicity. As someone who is pansexual and a non-binary ftm, I felt like I absolutely had to do this installation and tell people why these issues should be addressed much more. The fact that the images above are STILL valid is terrifying. The thought of moving from Hawaii to the mainland for college now sounds dangerous. I'd like to feel safe in public.
