Start-up meeting at SÖS
I’m gonna start with the good part and later say the bad stuff, okay?☆
Good stuff: The skin therapist at SÖS seems to know her shit very well. She explained how the laser treatment works and how it actually ignores the outer skin layer completely unless it is too dark (like birthmarks) and that’s why pain relief cream is not really something that will help. She seems to think that what’s left of my dark hairs should be easily removed!☆ I can get a cream after the treatments that apparently kills hair follicles that might still be left, or grow out after some time. I hope it doesn’t hurt, and does the job! One more thing: She hung up a diploma showing that she completed her LGBT training (whatever that is, like, I don’t know, but it must be good)
The bad stuff: New rules for hair removal for transfeminine people in Stockholm - only 75% of beard hair is covered by the county. Big boo right here, they basically won’t help me with the hundreds of blonde hairs I have on my shin and cheeks and lip and everywhere, ugh! Also, what is 25% of my beard growth anyway? They might just stop whenever they want to and I’ll still be dysphoric when I look at myself in the mirror. Clearly, I have some anxiety around this number. Will they even remove the hair from my chest? (not that there is that much to remove, but still) Will they remove the hair from the chests of my trans sisters in Stockholm who have way more chest hair than me? This whole change has been very shady from the start and I still feel it’s shady as hell. Smells very right-wing to me...
