1) Intake with your source media. Whether it be watching, reading, listening to it.
2) Interact with your source. Create / look at headcannons, make playlists or Pinterest boards, do redesigns and tell yourself it's "how you remember xyz", ect.
3) If you're a non-cannon character, then insert yourself into that media. Doodle, talk about, or write out scenes and (")memories(") , Draw yourself into it if it's a show or movie , ect.
4) Start referring to yourself as that character. Slip references or phrases into your speech that would make sense for that character.
5) Make a social media account as that character. Think about if you want to make it a roleplay account, or a non-roleplay account. Treat it outwardly as a kin or introject account, because more (non-transid) people will interact with it (positively) that way.
