September 11

Niagara Falls, NY 

My hometown. Born and raised with a world wonder in my backyard. Something you don’t realize until you move away. Come home for a visit and then you’re all “THAT’S A HUGE FREAKING WATERFALL! DON’T YOU GUYS SEE THIS THING?”. No one sees it.

Annie Edson Taylor went over it in a barrel with her cat (and survived). Nikola Tesla helped systemize use of the falls to generate power. The history is rich here, even if the city is rundown and decaying. Three Sisters Islands is one of my favorite places in the world. When I was a kid my dad would have me stick my feet in the water on the third island, and wait and see what images would appear ahead in the mist of the falls. 

Ripe with my own history of this place, I can never quite relax coming home. But taking a moment to go downtown and see the real beauty this place was founded on is an amazing feeling.

Well I came here to look at this lake Drove like five hours And there’s all this fog, right Can’t see a damn thing Deepest lake in the country And here I am like an idiot Photographing some fog Like, I SWEAR THERES A DEEP FUCKING LAKE BACK THERE

Nature is so beautiful and fucked up

I did it for the view Even if the view wasn’t what I had expected it to be
