How would male Amity and Hunter work? Any ideas of how they fall for each other?

They have so much in common! Both of them know what it's like to be under immense, unfair amounts of pressure from distant, unaffectionate parental figures, surrounded by peers who they can't truly connect with, and searching for validation through excellence. In my mind, the bond between Amity and Hunter is encapsulated in their Eclipse Lake dialogue:

I grew up thinking everything was an opportunity to justify existing, but there are people out there who won't make you feel worthless. You just have to let yourself meet them.

Now if we say Amity is transmasc, that just makes it even easier for them to connect. Neither of them really know how to perform stereotypical masculinity. I could see them trying so hard to "act male" and it just keeps getting sillier and sillier until they crack up. Granted, I tend to aim the transgender ray at Hunter myself. I might possibly even be planning an Amiter-themed fic for the distant future along these lines...
