(LIGHT CW: facial wound/cut) (not rly detailed?)
HEY @bonebeautyart @robespierres-secret-daughter @cheeri1yfrancis (sorry for the tag ;-;) !! I saw on Shroe’s post you three were asking why SJ was drawn with a facial scar in our universe, so I’m gonna explain some of the lore :3
So, Robespierre and SJ escape Thermidor by horse, evidently in the drawing, Robespierre still suffered a gunshot wound to his face… they get caught up by some of the guards in the place, and Saint-Just took it to himself to physically protect a bleeding Robespierre :(( what ends up happening is that SJ gets slit across the face by a sword, one cut below his right eye and the other from his right eyebrow down to his left cheek… this cut is really deep, more than enough to scar, but both SJ and Robespierre get stitches later on for their facial wounds as to prevent infection and larger scarring. Antoine is in a lot better of a physical state than Maxime, Robespierre’s wound and such a sudden surge of trauma upon him renders him basically mute and bedridden… this AU has a tooon of angst despite it being a happier ending for the two Q_Q we haven’t fully fleshed out their whole story yet, but I think that they still lost Brount, Bonbon, Couthon, le Bas, the other Robespierreists… might change that in the future bc I don’t really like thaaat Dx
Saint-Just takes a lot of care for Robespierre after Thermidor, both of them have an equally strong amount of anxiety of losing each other after that incident, but it almost especially shows in SJ. He’s constantly checking Maxime’s wound in case of infection, changing his bandages, giving him medicine, and cooking for him, he can’t stand to see Robespierre in this helpless state, it just makes him neglect his own needs :( luckily in some time, Robespierre relearns basic tasks with the help from Antoine, such as chewing food, talking, and walking without support… they can baskcally live what can be a regular and fulfilling life again.
(silly note also after their loss of Brount after Thermidor, a while later after both being way more mentally and physically healed than before, they find a street puppy with a facial scar, just like the two of them! They decide to adopt the baby)
Theyre just living together far away from Paris, maybe in some farmland? Both working some sort of simple jobs in order to be able to financially hold their family (yes it’s mpreg because transmasc SJ headcanon sooorrryyyy) and house together. I love this universe bc of just how bittersweet it is 😭
