So I completely agree with your stance against TERFS but might it be counterproductive to cast them off, where there'll be forced to exclusively interact with those they agree with - strengthening their numbers and world view?
what course of action do you propose then?
from what i’ve seen trying to educate them is pointless, and their mindset actively dehumanizes and excludes trans people (ESPECIALLY trans women)
it’s not like their beliefs are harmless and don’t impact anyone - they directly impact the lives of every single trans person out there
i’ve seen terfs condone acts of hatred and violence against trans women for “invading” feminist spaces and spaces dedicated to women since they don’t view them as women. they view them as men “in disguise” which is a terrible, awful mindset to have
HOWEVER, sending them death threats is also not the way to go, since that just gives them more fuel. but we also can’t go around trying to patiently explain things to them because that won’t work in most cases.
asking trans people to treat terfs with respect when terfs go out of their way to exclude and dehumanize trans people is out of the question
