I just had my pre op appointment for top surgery and a lot of stuff for my experience will be so different from what I heard other people say. Which is partly my fault for taking it all as scripture but still. My recovery will be both better and worse. I am allowed to raise my arms and shower in the first week. My surgeon uses a special lidocaine in my chest so I need less painkillers. But I will have to wear a full length compression vest for three weeks after surgery. It goes all around my shoulders up to my neck. three weeks, man, that’s gonna suck. all throughout I have rehearsals for a play that I’m in. It will come off just before dress rehearsals. It’s two weeks away, which is insane. I’m gonna start getting things ready around my house and writing notes to myself. In two weeks I’ll be free and happy, whatever happens. :)
