Why Youre To Blame For The Rubbish We Get From China
Lebanese protesters demonstrated the ongoing garbage crisis in #Lebanon last Saturday by bringing their garbage and dumping it at the Grand Serail-Lebanon's seat of government. Anger at the government, which has failed for years to provide adequate electricity, water and Internet to the country is at an all time high. Lebanon's trash crisis is steadily spiraling out of control due to the governments growing inability to maintain even the most basic of municipal services, including water and electricity. This picture was taken in one of Beirut's main nightlife districts where restaurants discard leftover meat and produce which has now been rotting in 90+ degree heat with high humidity for over a week. While protestors have blocked efforts to find an alternative location for Lebanon's waste-halting it's transport to alternative dump sites, massive piles like this one are growing so large that they're starting to block traffic.
