So, @damnedxfate and I have been geeking out over an AU based on @trashfontcesttrash post. At first I was trying so hard to stay away from pokemon / Undertale crossovers.. but this one sucked me in. (I see the possible lewd jokes already, shaddup.) A lot of wonderful world building material was posted today, but I wanted to throw some ideas out there! Bitties. Oh my freaking word, I love bitties. Tiny little beings who are highly intelligent (sometimes more so then their companions..), if you are not familiar with them well.. there are a lot out there in the fandom, I originally was going to link directly to them, but some are 18+ material (well this pokesans AU is 18+ already but best to be safe rather then sorry) and might not be comfortable with me just adding them here without speaking with them first. A little research is all it takes to locate information on bitties, many are SFW and are fine to look up if you are curious.
Anyway on with the ideas.
Now, many aus have their own Sanses in the PokeSans AU, but when it comes to bitties, they have such a wide verity and some are more Papyrus like in nature and build, that I see the bitties being more of companions, like they are in their own AUs, then pokesans to catch. I have toyed with the idea of actually having a Bitty trainer story, lots of hurdles to jump with that story!
One thought which has crossed my mind, was having certain well educated bitties, with calm and collect temperaments, taking the place of the pokedex. These bitties would be assigned to a trainer when they receive their first pokesans, but it would be an agreement situation. They would not belong to the trainer, but be a companion, a friend to help out with useful information as well as knowledge on travel and how to care for their Sanses. Also, I see the potential for these Dex-Bitties to need to refresh their training every now and then, especially when new species of Sanes are discovered.
Each center (like the pokecenters in the games) could allow a resting area for these bitties, along with pamphlets for them to read, other bitties to socialize with, and means of contacting the professors they trained under. I can even see there being a possibility for these Bitties to become professors once their trainer companions have finished their journey, and retired. The bitties then could either stay with the trainer, sense they had spent so much time together, or move on to work at a university, teaching future PokeSans experts.
Of course if someone would like to add bitties into the AU as Sanses to capture, that too is something which could be a possibility, but personally.. I like this head cannon best.

Honestly? I would like to combine pokemarts and Grillby/Muffet's locations. There you can purchase healing foods, some shelf stable items perhaps? Maybe a few other shop keeps should be combined into this selection, such as the Bunny shop keeps (I have lost the names at the moment..) or Tems.
Actually now that I think of it, Temmies' shop would be a fantastic location to receive TMs equivalents as well as various goods and costumes..
