People wake up everyday and they do same old routine, same stuff, same, same! John did wear his bright pink tie with blue shirt today, wondering if she notice his new tie.. or anything really. He’s desperate to flirt with Katya.

“hmm.. meh” sticks his tongue out when she lists all the food “so boring.. can I have some milk with that apple pie? You guys got syrup too? That one you pour on pancakes? Be a doll and pour some on my apple pie, too!” he winks as if what he said is a two-meaning word, locks his hands under the chin, leaning on elbows on top of the table “might leave a good tip for you if you bring warm milk!” he adds.

James hated feeling like he was being babied. Having to have someone wash him due to having a dislocated collarbone definitely felt that way. It was only part of him, as James could wash a lot of his body with difficulty, but he couldn't get his arms, shoulders, or face. So now he was seated in a tub. He had a swimsuit on for modesty, mostly because this was awkward enough without him having everything on display.

"You'll probably have to help me put a shirt on, too" he said. "And for the love of all that's holy, don't press down on my shoulder too hard. You ever bathed anyone else before?"

"I was thinking we could get a real tree for the living room, but I'm open to suggestions... The fakeys are getting pretty convincing, I must say... an' those kind with red needles are cool too, even though I've never seen a red pine tree in real life..."

A pair of slick green corduroys and an ultra fuzzy sweater hung on the towel rack as he finished grooming himself for the day ahead. Jennings was excited to spend this Christmas season with Cecelia, having spent all the ones before it alone... or with his bah-humbugging mother, God rest her...

James was caught a little off-guard by Bonnie's comment. They'd grown close, but he wondered if it was just the circumstances of traveling together, having a few close calls. She was attractive, which didn't help...or maybe it did.

"Um...well...yeah, I guess" he said, stammering a little bit. He looked up from the campfire over at her. "Yeah, we've been riding together a few months. You matter to me, too."

When he didn't see her anywhere after returning from stepping out for some bread, it left him in somewhat of a panic. Kidnapping was the first fear, slowly followed by cold feet. But Dee reasoned with himself, and eventually came upon a familiar silhouette made somewhat vague by an interval of electrified shadow tearing through the window coverings; as well a blanket pulled up over her head.

"... Is it the thunder or the lighting that gets to you the most?" he asked, placing a hand upon one of her shrouded shoulders. He was soaked, having made it back just before the worst of the weather.

He'd never known an adult who was actually scared of storms, and until now he'd believed it was reserved purely for comical stereotypes and young, inexperienced children. The fact that his belief was now being challenged—and in the form of his own girlfriend—caused him to fall quiet. "I'm just... I'm just gonna change, okay? I'll be right in the bedroom. If-If you need me." He gave her shoulder a reassuring squeeze and then turned to go get dry.

Let Me Out

"Okay, just hang on" James said as he tried to open the door. It was locked to him, too. He was at least on the outside, able to move around, but Amani was stuck in a room with no way out to go anywhere. He felt along the door. It was solid, not the kind he was going to be able to kick down. Not that he knew much about how to do that.

"Well, I do have some lockpicking skills, but you'll probably have to give me a few minutes" he said. Except based on the noise of the people coming up the stairs, it was more likely he had a few seconds to decide what to do.

He swore. "I'm going to have to hide. Try to stay quiet and hope they don't check in here." He ducked behind a corner, also hoping they wouldn't check there.
