My friend Randy asked me the difference between my two alien species from my fanfic. So, here we are.
I’m basically just going to list the differences Travek’s have to Coeihns and a few things about them.
-Are commonly physically stronger than most Coeihns
-Do not have equivalents. When I say this I mean, they do not mate with one person for life. They are similar to human in the fact that they can mate with others and leave the partner they are currently with.
-A lot more war oriented race.
-Uncivilized in terms of politics. It is not uncommon for there to be many deaths (Of their own citizens even) a week within this culture.
-While Coeihns look down or belittle those with birth defects or traits considered to make a Coeihn “weak”, (Odd eye colors, being smaller than average height, having weak limbs, or being unable to keep up with the progress of others as they grow) Traveks will take it a step farther, getting rid of the Travek through any means possible. Many travek children are killed if considered ‘weak’.
-More markings along their body
-Their markings actually glow during solar eclipses.
-Unlike Coeihns, they do not fall into a heat the first time they find a mate.
(A strange note to for Bella I thought up, cause I’m mean, if she reads this:)
-When a Coeihn goes into heat they actually grow in both strength and stamina, and the heat will completely take over their mind for a granted 3 days. (Traits: Possessiveness, obsessiveness, needy, insistent on being as close as possible, never lets their mate out of their sight.) All these tend to calm down by day three and the Coeihn will return to normal by day 4 or 5.
- This is fine for most Coeihns given that they are both experiencing the same thing and will hold similar urges and strength level.
-It is almost looked down on for a Coeihn and Travek to get together for two reasons. 1) They believe the Travek may not stay faithful to their equivalent. 2) the travek may actually be put in danger those first two days if they are not strong enough to combat the strength of their partner.
-In past occurrences, Traveks have passed out from exhaustion and physical injuries after these three days and need extensive bed rest. (This depends on their own strength/stamina levels)
-There are Traveks who have won Coeihn citizenship. Just as there are some Coeihns who have turned to earn Travek citizenship.
-When a Coeihn is finally mated and is an equivalent, they will mate with no other, growing a very strong bond with their partner. This bond could even cause the other physical pain if the two equivalents are separated for too long.
-Traveks do not gain this intense of a bond. They can spend a long time away from their partner and be fine.
-Similar to anniversaries, the heat will return to Coeihn equivalents once a year. During this day they are given an almost vacation day, allowed to be vacant the entire day. Equal days, are what these are referred to.
(I’m still working on more for this. But thank you, everyone, who seems to enjoy the Coeihn/Travek world so much! :D If you ever have any suggestions to these two species I would love to hear them!)
