Current Read: Frankenstein by Mary Shelley

I really enjoyed The Boy Who Melted. I liked the idea of the character being hurt by rain. I thought the rest of the story was brilliant and well written. I wish that it showed the hospital intern’s reaction to events and more of what happened to that character. There was a section of the story where I started not liking the character based on his thoughts of the girl’s friends and I was not sure if that was the author’s intention or not. I liked the main character again near the end as his thoughts were more understandable in the later pages. I would give the story 4/5 (really liked it).

Current Read: The Boy Who Melted by Travis McBee

I finished The Metamorphosis by Franz Kafka last night in front of a bonfire. It was a very enjoyable story reading it once again. I’ve only read one other of his stories titled A Hunger Artist. I liked how the family broke down due to the stress of caring for the main character who used to care for them. It was sad how they turned on him as well. I liked the theme of change that is throughout the book. Each character goes through their own Metamorphosis through the story. For example the father goes from a sickly figure to an intimidating authority figure. This story is not for everyone but if you like weird and macabre tales I recommend it. 4/5 (really Liked it)
