It turns out that Dominique Ansel Bakery (which tourists refuse to call anything but "the cronut place") is across the street from my doctor's office. Because I have had a couple of 8am appointments there recently (to finally get my chickenpox vaccine), I have learned that now that it is winter, you can waltz into the bakery at 8:30am and the line will be gone but the cronuts will not. This is good because cronuts are delicious but not worth waiting in line for more than, say, ten minutes.

These cronuts were peanut butter rum flavored, and they were awful good, but my favorite flavor so far is probably last month's dark chocolate & champagne.
