Hey! I like your blog a lot :) Have you ever read Jasper Fforde's Thursday Next books? They're based in an alternate universe where books occupy the place that television does for us, and there ARE book awards ceremonies, among many other things. They're light fare but I really love them. They're written for literature enthusiasts, so maybe you would like them too (unless of course you've already read them!)

That series has been waiting for me on my e-reader for ages, but I have this feeling that if I read one, I’ll want to read all of them, and that is a long-time commitment I don’t have the time for right now (my thesis takes up a lot of my time these days).
