So there was drunk person drive car in to young tree in traffic circle and killed it and Seattle took it all out and now people keep drive they cars right over whole traffic circle so guardian Librarian and Pixie make this urban scare crow Pixie really sad about little tree friend but also all Pixies sleeping flowers getting squished maybe will need all new flowers this spring
Anyone else remember that one kids movie that had a scene where these people painted numbers on (living) trees, and the number represented the order they would be cut down (basically killed), and then the tree with the “1″ was sawed down in front of all of its tree buddies?

This is pretty damn horrible.
You might recognise this iconic tree from Robin Hood Prince of Thieves - the bit where they pretend Hadrian's Wall is somewhere near Dover.
It's also genuinely beloved and was voted tree of the year 2016.
If you ever wanted to visit this bit of the wall and look at this tree, you can't now. Ever. It's gone. For everyone.
People on Mastodon are saying it's probably been done to get back at the National Trust because they own that part of Hadrian's Wall and are not well liked in the area, but I can't imagine any reason for doing this that makes it less monstrous.
So, someone illegally trespassed into my backyard last night and girdled my tree. Anyone know how to get the tree to survive as a revenge plot?
