Der Hinterhof gehört den Bäumen. Viele Leipziger Naturdenkmale stehen in Hinterhöfen, so wie diese hoch aufgeschossene Bergulme, die zielstrebig zum Licht zieht. Knapp 20 Meter dürften es sein, wobei eine solcher Baum bis zu 40 Metern schafft. Das liegt vor allem an der sympodial monochasialen Verzweigung, bei der Stamm und Äste mehrfach durch Seitensprosse übergipfelt werden.

Besonders geschützt werden die wenigen alten Ulmen vor allem seit dem flächendeckenden Ulmensterben der letzten Jahrzehnte. Dabei ist die Ulme (auch Rüster genannt) seit jeher klassischer Hof-, Dorf und Stadtbaum. Deshalb ist das faszinierende auch seine Übercodiertheit: War er in der griechischen Mythologie Symbol des Todes (am Eingang zum Hades steht einer Ulme in deren Ästen die Träume der Menschen hängen; unter ihr besang auch Orpheus seinen Fehler). Baum der Trauer nennen ihn die Briten, die ihre Särge traditionell aus Ulmen zimmern. In der nordischen Mythologie ist die Ulme der Beginn allen Lebens (die Frau entstand aus einem Ulmenstamm, der Mann aus der Esche)

Im Baumhoroskop beginnt übrigens nächste Woche die Zeit der Ulmegeborenen. Wesenseigenschaft laut Esoteriker: „Die Person ist eine angenehme Figur, trägt geschmackvolle Kleidung und sagt laut was ihr nicht passt.“ Na denn!

This is my Dearest 25 year old Gulmohar Bonsai Tree. This tree has been living with us and moving around with us for around 21 years now. Initially, started from the seed by my Mother who is also a self-taught Bonsai creator, and she raised it for the first couple of years before she gave it to me. . . The first post I read today morning was by the @lazygardener.in who asked a question in their post - Do you talk to your plants? To which I responded that I converse with them... . I can literally hear them speak, and tell me things. . . Today despite being a Manic Monday Morning, I felt a great need to hug my oldest child of 25yrs, who has been by us, standing in tenacity, stood by the test of time, moved along with us... in everyway!!! So I requested the Reluctant Photographer (my second older child, seen in blue behind the green in the last pic collage, who is (im)patiently and (dis) gracefully 😂😁 waiting on his mommy's request to click pictures)... . . And it's truly therapeutic to see , touch, hug and feel these lovely living beings, who are so forgiving! . . Do not forget to observe the natural #moss bed that regularly grows during monsoon at the tree base. And a few other plants that just come up around it , including a #holybasil Tulsi. .
