TOH III
Intro:
Interestingly, this episode starts off with Homer warning us instead of Marge. He then makes fun of the viewers who turn off the TV until Marge scolds him and we jump into the episode.
First Segment:
The simpsons family is throwing a halloween party. Marge tries to entertain the kids but homer ruins it and the guests start telling one another stories.
Lisa starts telling the story of a evil doll:
Its bart‘s birthday and Homer forgot to buy a present so he goes to buy a last-second present. He goes into a creepy store, the owner recommends him a talking krusty doll off of his shelf. Grandpa warns bart that the present is evil but marge just complains that he said that about every present.
Homer tries out bart‘s new doll until it starts cursing him out and even pulls out a knive. He starts screaming only for his family to come in and think he has lost his mind because the doll doesnt show itself as evil to them.
Homer catches the doll flirting with Malibu-stacy and puts it into a bag with his dirty socks. He then drives to the bottomless-pit and throws it inside.
But to his surprise the doll hadnt fallen into the bottomless-pit but followed him home. They call a worker of the company that made the doll and turned off the evil-button. In the end the doll works for Homer and dates Lisa‘s malibu stacy.
Second segment:
Homer attempts to tell a story but messed it up so grandpa steps in and tells his story:
We see marge agreeing to mr. Burns‘ job offer to an unspoken about expedition. Its to drive to a monkey island and use marge as a way to lure the monkey towards him. So they put her up as an sacrifice for the monkey. (The monkey being homer obvi) but instead of killing or eating her, he falls inlove with her.
He also eats lenny and mr. Burns accidentally gasses himself. Homer also gets gassed and falls unconscious. They then bring him to a kind of circus where they present him and let the people look and photograph him until homer breaks free and climbs through the city. He then takes marge out of a building and climbs up a bit with her in his hand.
He then falls down and marge takes him in and ends up marrying him. Happy ending
Third segment:
Marge then tries to get the children to eat fruits. Flanders then comes in wearing a really good costume. Bart then tells his own story.
The story starts with bart presenting a first graders book to his class. His teacher demands him to read another book so he goes to the occult section and finds a magic book. Lisa is mourning the death of snowball I. Bart wants to help his sister by using the book to awake lisa‘s dead cat. Instead of the cat, he awakes the entire springfield graveyard who all turn into brain-eating zombies.
The zombies go through springfield terrorizing the Springfieldians. Bart and Lisa realize that they need to use a magic book to change up the spell. So they go to the school-library and search for a book to break the spell with. They end up succeeding and all the zombies die out and return to their graves.
Canon:
The first segment appears to be canon atleast to some extent. This episode was released years before they showed patty as being lesbian and a joke appeared of patty saying how the tiny thread where her heterosexuality had been hanging at had ripped. So maybe there is atleast some truth to this story, I also believe the bottomless-pit to be canon since I noticed that whenever the characters tell a story, the places they mention in their story are usually real places in springfield. Obviously the doll-part is likely made up considering that the simpson family doesnt own a chore-making talking doll in their home after this episode.
Unsure:
No part of the episode seems extremely unsure.
Not canon:
The last segment is by far the most obviously not-canon. A lot of reoccurring characters died and were alive the next episode. The second segment is also fake since Homer is obviously not a huge human-eating Monkey.
Connection to gravity falls:
Bart using a magic book in the third segment is kinda similar to dipper using journal three if you squint your eyes.
Also Dipper summoning zombies in scary-oke is so similar to bart summoning the zombies in this TOH. Too bad the segment isn‘t canon🥲 But maybe there was some truth behind it and bart did find a magic book at one point but hid it or maybe he did another spell that doesnt involve zombies.
