                THE   CHILD   TURNED   to  her  brother  with  an  amused  grin,   her  hands  lightly  gripping  at  the  seams  of  her  sweater.   (   WHAT  A   GESTURE!   )   of  course,   she  didn ’ t  want  to  seem  uninterested,   so  coming  up  with  light  banter   (   that ‘ s  talking,   but  SMARTER!   )   was  a  nice  way  for  her  to  stay  engaged.

                WANDERING   MYSTERY   TWINS   was  never  a  foreign  sight  now   -   a   -   days.    always  looking.   today,   they scouted  a  cave.   mabel  wasn ‘ t   .   .   .   listening  when  dipper  told  her  what  they  were  searching  for  exactly.   she  was  busy  knitting    ;    she  would  never  ignore  her  brother  over  something  silly.

things  spoken  while  holding  your  hand   .       no  longer  accepting   .

time  passes  quickly   ,   one  would  complain   .       here  they  sat   ,   years  ago   ,   when  there  was  still    green    in  their  eyes    /    before  they  had  experienced  many  winters  on  their  skin   ,   before  the  summer  had  been    stripped    from  their  flesh    !       (     they  were  innocent  once  upon  a  time   .       they  knew  of  the  kiss  of  happiness   .     )       now  they  are  withered    &    weathered   .       still  young   ,   but    not  quite   .       still  friends   ——-   but    things  still  changed   .       they  died   ,   came  back  to  life    &    died  again   .       they  found  death    &    greeted    HIM    with  a  cool  kiss  on  the  cheek   .

this  was  their  life   ,   misery   -   filled  always    &    forever   .

ivory  curls  against  ivory   ,   bruised  digits  meeting  bloodied  fingers    ;    remnants  of  previous  battles  won    [     as  well  as  those  lost    !     ]     .       silence  among  them   ,   the  only  comfort  given  by  the  occasional  squeeze  or  even  gentle  hum       .       &    then  she  speaks   ,   slowly   ,   allowing  the  syllables  to  ease  past  her  lips   ,   his  name  an    echo    of  what  adventure   -   filled  boy  she  once  knew   .
